The Action Kicks off in Guadalajara for the 2026 Central American & Caribbean Games Boxing Qualifier

GUADALAJARA, MEXICO – The city of Guadalajara is set to become the epicenter of continental boxing as it hosts the Central American & Caribbean Games Qualifier from March 12 to March 16, 2026. This high-stakes tournament serves as a critical milestone on the road to the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026.

The competition will feature 86 elite athletes representing 13 National Federations. Boxers will compete across 14 Olympic weight classes—seven for men and seven for women—vying for the quota spots for the upcoming Games.

The event is organized by the Panamerican Boxing Confederation (PBC) in close coordination with the Mexican Boxing Federation (FMB) and follows World Boxing Competition Rules. The tournament will be held at the prestigious Domo del Code Jalisco, a venue renowned for hosting high-level sporting events.

"Mexico is proud to host this important continental qualifying event in the city of Guadalajara," said Lic. Oscar Contreras González, President of the Mexican Boxing Federation. "Our federation has worked diligently to ensure optimal competition conditions and a safe, welcoming environment for all athletes and delegations. Elise Seignolle, President of the Panamerican Boxing Confederation, highlighted the significance of the event for the development of the sport:

"This qualifier represents an important step in the pathway for athletes across the Americas. It brings together boxers from throughout our region to compete, gain international experience, and continue their journey toward qualification. Guadalajara provides an excellent stage for this event, and we appreciate the commitment and professionalism of the Mexican Boxing Federation and the local organizing committee."

Fernando Ortega, general director of sport of Jalisco, speaking on behalf of the Government of the State of Jalisco, stated:

“Hosting this qualifying event in the city of Guadalajara is of great importance for Jalisco. On behalf of Governor Pablo Lemus Navarro, we reaffirm our commitment to the boxing community to guarantee the technical and organizational conditions, as well as the security protocols required for a successful event. We want all participating teams to achieve their goals and go back home with a great experience from their visit to the capital of the State of Jalisco.”

  • Bout 2 (Quarterfinal): Dulce Diaz (GUA) vs. Yuliett Hinestroza (PAN) — Elite Women's 51kg.

  • Bout 3 (Quarterfinal): Yailena Palomo (CUB) vs. Valeria Amparan (MEX) — Elite Women's 51kg.
