RAFAELA, ARGENTINA – Day 3 of the boxing competition at the XIII South American Games Santa Fe 2026 delivered an electric afternoon of high-stakes action at the sub-venue in Rafaela, featuring 12 contested bouts across the men’s 65kg, 70kg, and 80kg divisions. Three bouts were halted inside the distance via Referee Stops Contest (RSC), alongside seven unanimous decisions that tested the continental field.

The middleweight and light heavyweight brackets produced emphatic finishes. At 70kg, Argentine crowd favorite Mateo Tavarone brought the venue to its feet by stopping Curaçao’s Jady Gogulski in the second round. Venezuela matched that firepower in the very next bout, as Edinson Alvarado forced a round-two stoppage over Alejandro Villagomez of Bolivia. In the 80kg division, Venezuela’s Diego Mejias notched another RSC-2 victory over Josue Terceros (BOL).

Brazil had a banner day, going three-for-three across the card. Yuri Reis earned a clean unanimous decision over Panama’s Cristofer Vargas at 65kg. At 70kg, Kaian Reis swept Paraguay’s Gonzalo Weiler across all five scorecards. In the session finale, Brazilian standout Wanderley Pereira put on a tactical clinic at 80kg, taking a 5:0 victory over Argentina’s Victor Roldan.

Session 3 also featured standout performances from Curaçao, Uruguay, Ecuador, and Colombia. Fabian Williams opened the day with a 5:0 unanimous decision win for Curaçao against Domelzo Schet (SUR). Uruguay’s Santiago Cardozo swept Arnold Centurion (PAR) 5:0 at 65kg, while Venezuela’s Joiser Medina edged Jhancarlo Anchico (ECU) in a 4:1 split. Ecuador picked up key wins from Jose Rodriguez (4:1 over Uruguay’s Jorge Sabatel at 70kg) and Gustiniano Mina (5:0) over Uruguay’s Enzo Diaz at 80kg. Colombia’s Juan Ortiz took a competitive 4:1 decision over Lino Ferreira of Paraguay.

Session 4 gets underway on Wednesday afternoon at 15:00 local time with a 12-bout lineup spanning Women’s 51kg, Women’s 65kg, Men’s 55kg, Men’s 60kg, Men’s 90kg, and the +90kg super heavyweights.

The session opens with two Women’s 51kg clashes: Colombia’s Yerlin Quiñones takes on host-country hero Tatiana Flores (ARG), followed by Panama’s Yuliett Asprilla meeting Venezuela’s Irismar Rojas. At Women’s 65kg, Ecuador’s Maria Palacios faces Argentina's Lucia Muello, while Brazil's Haziel Santos takes on Tatiana Bonanni of Uruguay.

In the men's 55kg division, Argentina’s Santiago Tulian meets Ecuador’s Billy Arias in a battle of opening-round 5:0 winners, followed by Lucas Garcia (URU) testing Brazilian contender Michael Trindade. At 60kg, home favorite Santiago Celes (ARG) battles Bolivia’s Sergio Lopez, before Brazil’s Luiz Oliveira squares off against Joaquin Villasante of Uruguay.

The heavy hitters close out the afternoon. At 90kg, Brazil’s Isaias Filho meets Alfonso Parra (VEN), while Guyana's Emmanuel Pompey takes on Colombia's hard-punching Jhojan Caicedo. In the +90kg super heavyweight division, Chile’s Andrews Chavez faces Joel da Silva (BRA), before Argentine Enzo Gallardo squares off against Ecuador’s Gerlon Congo.
