PBC Secures Critical Victories from Bahamas Hield and Canada’s Wall and Ofori as Quarterfinals Begin

Glasgow, Scotland – Panamerican Boxing Confederation (PBC) athletes capped off Day 4 of competition at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games with key victories, securing three additional quarter-final spots across the Men’s and Women’s divisions.
Team Canada continued its dominant tournament run, while the Bahamas secured a hard-fought victory from Carl Hield to keep his medal hopes alive in Glasgow.
Women’s 51kg (Round of 16): Amber-Jane Wall (CAN) delivered a boxing clinic, sweeping all five judges’ scorecards to defeat Ramatu Quaye (GHA) by unanimous decision.
Men’s 70kg (Round of 16): Carl Hield (BAH) displayed sharp ring generalship, claiming a 3:1 split-decision victory over Osward Talaka (SOL) to advance to the next round.
Men’s 80kg (Round of 16): Joshua Ofori (CAN) put on an explosive performance, stopping Fiji's Aminiasi Saratibau via RSC in Round 2.
Zalaan Jan (ANT) put up a valiant effort but fell via unanimous decision (5:0) to India's Ankush Ankush.
Three Canadian boxers will step into the ring tomorrow in high-stakes Quarter-Final action, with a guaranteed medal on the line for each winner:
