GLASGOW, SCOTLAND — Panamerican Boxing Confederation (PBC) expanded its medal haul on Wednesday at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, securing three additional quarter-final victories to bring its tournament total to five guaranteed medals.

In addition to Canada's Scarlett Savannah Delgado and Marie-Bathoul Al-Ahmadieh who qualified yesterday, Canadian boxers Amber-Jane Wall and Joshua Ofori, alongside Trinidad & Tobago's Nigel Paul, punching their tickets to the Semi-Finals.

Day 6 Recap: Wednesday, July 29 Results (Quarter-Finals)

  • Women’s 51kg Quarter-Final: Amber-Jane Wall (CAN) delivered a tactical masterpiece, sweeping all five judges’ scorecards against Wales' Niamh Brookes to assure herself a spot on the podium.

  • Men’s 80kg Quarter-Final: Joshua Ofori (CAN) advanced to the semi-finals via Walkover (WO) against Desmond Pappoe (GHA).

  • Men’s 90+kg Quarter-Final: Nigel Paul (TTO) brought elite heavy-hitting dominance to the ring, capturing a unanimous decision over Ramzi Salifou (TOG) to secure a guaranteed medal for Trinidad & Tobago.

Men’s 70kg Quarter-Final: Carl Hield (BAH) conceded a Walkover (WO) to Jon McConnell (NIR) due to injury.

Semi-final action takes center stage on Friday, as PBC looks to send our five athletes to the finals! Thursday, July 30 is an official competition rest day. Semi-Final bouts will take place across three sessions on Friday, July 31.

  • Men’s 90+kg Semi-Final (Bout 172): Nigel Paul (TTO) vs. Narender Narender (IND)
