PBC Athletes From Canada and Antigua & Barbuda Advance at Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games

Glasgow, Scotland – Panamerican Boxing Confederation (PBC) athletes have made their mark through the opening three days of competition at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, securing decisive victories and punching their tickets to the quarter-final rounds.
Led by strong performances from Team Canada and Team Antigua & Barbuda, PBC boxers displayed power and technical skill across multiple weight divisions.
Men’s 80kg (Round of 32): Zalaan Jan (ANT) delivered a dominant stoppage performance, defeating Happy Ngwira (MAW) via Referee Stops Contest in Round 3 (RSC R3 0:23).
Men’s 80kg (Round of 32): Joshua Ofori (CAN) made quick work of his opening bout, stopping Sithija Sudamma (SRI) in the first round (RSC R1 1:21).
Women’s 54kg (Round of 16): Scarlett Savannah Delgado (CAN) put on a tactical clinic, defeating host nation favorite Stephanie Kernachan (SCO) by unanimous decision (5:0).
Men’s 65kg (Round of 16): Gabriel Labrie (CAN) advanced to the quarter-finals with a commanding 5:0 unanimous decision victory over Afzal Khan (PAK).
Rashield Williams (BAH) dropped a narrow 3:2 split decision loss to James Paul (PNG) in an incredibly close bout. Keoma Al-Ahmadieh (CAN), Jeremiah Thomas (TTO), Martez Cope (JAM), and Alston Ryan (ANT) also performed admirably but failed to advance in the tournament.
Our PBC athletes step into the ring tomorrow, July 27, and Tuesday, June 28, with the goal of reaching the final medal rounds. Notable upcoming bouts include:

Men’s 70kg (Session 8 - Bout 10): Carl Hield (BAH) vs. Osward Talaka (SOL)
Tuesday, July 28 (Quarter-Finals)
Women’s 54kg (Session 9 - Bout 2): Scarlett Savannah Delgado (CAN) vs. Greer Hall (NZL)
Women’s 60kg (Session 9 – Bout 4): Marie-Bathoul Al-Ahmadieh (CAN) vs. Rosemarion Otieno (KEN)
Men’s 65kg (Session 9 - Bout 10): Gabriel Labrie (CAN) vs. Jacob Cassar (AUS)
