Panamerican Delegation Clinches Finals Berths at World Boxing Cup

FOZ DO IGUAÇU, BRAZIL – The Panamerican Boxing Confederation (PBC) has solidified its standing as a global boxing powerhouse following a spectacular Semifinal performance at the World Boxing Cup – Stage 1. After a day of elite-level technical displays, the delegation has advanced 12 athletes into today's gold-medal bouts, guaranteeing a historic haul of silver and gold medals for the Americas.

Yesterday’s Semifinal Results (April 25):

Panamerican athletes delivered a series of clinical performances to secure their places in the finals:

• Brazilian Dominance: Brazil led the charge with a perfect sweep in several key categories. Rebeca Santos (W-60kg) and Thauan Silva (M-75kg) both secured dominant unanimous decision victories over China and Poland. In the heavier classes, Isaias Filho (M-90kg) and Kaue Belini (M-85kg) both advanced with clinical 4:1 decisions. Yuri Falcão (BRA) shut out Canada’s Gabriel Labrie with a masterclass unanimous decision at M-65kg.

• Regional Showdowns: In highly anticipated "Confederation Clashes," Fatima Herrera (MEX) defeated Tatiana Flores (ARG) in a tactical 4:1 decision at W-48kg, while Salim Ellis Bey (USA) controlled his bout with a unanimous decision victory over Keoma Al-Ahmadieh (CAN) at M-60kg. Omailyn Alcala (VEN) demonstrated elite tactical prowess at W-57kg, defeating Argentina's Delfina Arancibia via unanimous decision.

• Tough Exits: Despite courageous efforts, Isabella Winkler (USA) and Noelle Haro (USA) saw their gold-medal dreams end in the semifinals, falling to Australia and France, respectively. Josh Ofori (CAN) also exited following a narrow 3:2 split-decision loss to Croatia
