Panamerican Boxing Confederation Opens Nominations for 2026 Elections and Invites Bids to Host 2027 Congress

PANAMA CITY, PANAMA – Panamerican Boxing Confederation (PBC) has formally opened nominations for elected positions to be contested at the 2026 PBC Congress, which will take place on 19 November 2026 in Panama City, Panama, at the Hotel El Panama by Faranda. The Congress will bring together National Federations from across the Americas to conduct the organization's official business, including elections for key leadership positions.

The 2026 Congress will include the election of:

  • One (1) President

  • One (1) Vice President

  • Two (2) Executive Board Members

Nominations are now officially open and must be submitted no later than 20 September 2026 at 23:59 EST. Only Full Members in good standing are eligible to nominate candidates and participate in the electoral process.

"Strong governance, transparency, and democratic participation are essential to the continued development of boxing throughout the Americas," said Chris Cugliari, Secretary General of the Panamerican Boxing Confederation. "We encourage qualified candidates from across our membership to put themselves forward and contribute to the future leadership of our Confederation."

Independent Vetting Process

In accordance with the PBC Statutes and Election Rules, all candidates will undergo an independent eligibility review conducted by a Vetting Panel identified by Panam Sports. The panel will assess each candidate against the eligibility criteria established in the governing documents. The final list of eligible candidates will be published by 20 October 2026.

Candidates must submit:

  • A completed nomination form

  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)

  • Proof of nationality or residency

  • Letter of support from their National Federation

  • Required declarations and disclosures

  • Payment of the candidate vetting fee, representing 50% of the due diligence costs associated with the independent review process.

The elections will be conducted by secret electronic ballot and administered in accordance with the statutes and PBC Election Rules and Voting Regulations.

Call for Proposals: Host the 2027 PBC Congress

In addition to opening nominations for elected office, the PBC has launched a formal call for proposals from Member Federations interested in hosting the 2027 Panamerican Boxing Confederation Congress.

Hosting the annual Congress presents an opportunity for a Member Federation to showcase its country, facilities, and commitment to the growth of boxing throughout the Americas. Member Federations wishing to submit a bid must provide a proposal outlining:

  • Proposed host city and venue facilities

  • Accommodation and transportation plans for international delegates

  • Governmental, institutional, or commercial support and partnerships

  • Budget overview and available resources

Proposals may not exceed five pages and must be submitted to congress@panamericanboxing.org by 20 September 2026 at 23:59 EST.

Federations that submit proposals will have the opportunity to present their bid during the 2026 Congress, after which the Congress delegates will vote to determine the host of the 2027 PBC Congress.
