Calgary to Host 2027 Panamerican Boxing Youth Continental Championships

CALGARY, CANADA (September 2026) –Panamerican Boxing Confederation (PBC) is pleased to announce that Calgary, Alberta, Canada, has been approved as the host city for the 2027 Panamerican Boxing Youth Continental Championships, to be held from March 17 to March 23, 2027, with arrivals on March 15 and departures on March 24.

The Championships will bring together the next generation of boxing talent from across the Americas, featuring U19 and U17 male and female athletes in a continental competition designed to support their pathway toward senior international competition, World Championships, and future Olympic participation.

The event will be hosted by Boxing Canada in Calgary following the approval of its bidding response by the PBC Board of Directors. Competition is expected to take place at the Genesis Centre, with the Best Western Premier Calgary Plaza Hotel serving as the proposed team hotel. Calgary International Airport will serve as the official international port of entry for participating delegations.

Elise Seignolle, President of Panamerican Boxing Confederation, highlighted the importance of the Championships in supporting the development of the next generation of athletes across the Americas:

“Panamerican Youth Continental Championships are an important part of how we continue to develop boxing across our continent. Giving our young athletes the opportunity to compete internationally, gain experience and represent their countries is essential to their development and to the future of our sport. We are very pleased to work with Boxing Canada and look forward to welcoming our National Federations and their athletes to Calgary for a great Championship.”

The event concept also includes opportunities for athlete development, coach and official education, community engagement, and international collaboration. Boxing Canada’s bid highlighted Calgary’s international accessibility, sport-event infrastructure, experienced volunteer community, and strong history of hosting major sporting events.

Registration for the Championships will open on October 1, 2026, through the Xempower system. Formal invitations, registration instructions, and additional event information will be sent to PBC Member National Federations in the coming weeks.
