Championship Finals Results — Two Historic Golds
Six Pan American competitors stepped into the squared circle on the final day of competition, putting on an elite display of boxing generalship:
Women's 65kg (GOLD): Brazilian superstar and Olympic medalist Beatriz Ferreira (BRA) asserted her complete dominance over the field, outclassing England's Sacha Hickey to cruise to a flawless unanimous decision and climb the top of the podium.
Men's 55kg (GOLD): Lorenzo Patricio (USA) captured a phenomenal gold medal for the United States, staging a technical clinic to soundly defeat China's Jiamao Zhang in a clear unanimous decision clean sweep on his home turf. This is Patricio's first international gold medal as an Elite boxer.
Women's 75kg (SILVER): Tammara Thibeault (Canada) brought home a prestigious silver medal for Canada following a hard-fought, highly physical battle against China's Ziyi Bao that ultimately ended in a third-round disqualification.
Elite Men's 60kg (SILVER): Luiz Gabriel Oliveira (Brazil) earned a well-deserved silver medal after a brilliant tactical showdown against Uzbekistan’s top-seeded Abdumalik Khalokov, who took the bout via a 5:0 decision.
Elite Men's 65kg (SILVER): Marcus Luther (USA) captured a silver medal, his first international medal as an Elite boxer for the United States, after going toe-to-toe in an incredibly competitive gold-medal match against France's Hugo Grau.
Elite Men's 80kg (SILVER): Wanderley Pereira (Brazil) added a fourth silver medal to the continent's stellar final tally, pushing Uzbekistan's Javokir Ummataliev to the absolute limit in a dramatic 3:2 split decision that kept fans on the edge of their seats.
In addition to our six legendary finalists, PBC honors its bronze medalists who fought through tough brackets to claim a spot on the global podium: Fatima Herrera (MEX) in the Women's 48kg division and Joel Ramos (BRA) in the Men's 90+kg division.
