Athlete Support Package Application – Sting Sports Equipment Program

1. Program Overview
Panamerican Boxing Confederation (PBC), led by the Athletes Committee and Sustainability and Solidarity Commission in partnership with Sting Sports, is pleased to offer an Athlete Support Package Program designed to provide selected athletes with boxing equipment to assist their athletic development and competitive preparation.
This initiative is intended to support athletes representing National Federations throughout the Panamerican region while also helping PBC evaluate the impact of equipment support programs.
10 athletes will be selected to receive this package for 2026. These packages include:
Training gloves
Competition or training headguards
Groin protector
Hand wraps
Mouth guards
Skipping rope
Backpack / duffel bag
The personal coaches for the selected athletes will also receive speed focus mitts and heavy hitter focus mitts.
2. Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for consideration, applicants must:
Be an athlete in good standing with their National Federation.
Be born between 1/1/1986 and 12/31/2007 (i.e., Elite age)
Complete the online application form by October 1, 2026. The completed application must include a letter of endorsement from the National Federation.
Agree to participate in program impact reporting, including providing feedback six (6) months after receiving the equipment package.
At most, applications for two males and two females per National Federation will be considered. If more than two applications for a specific gender are received containing endorsement from the same National Federation, only the first two received will be considered.
Incomplete applications will not be considered.
3. Selection Process and Scoring Criteria
10 athletes will be selected to receive this package for 2026.
All eligible applications will be reviewed by a three-member evaluation panel consisting of:
One (1) representative from the Athlete Committee
One (1) representative from the Sport & Competition Committee
One (1) representative from the Sustainability & Solidarity Commission
To ensure fairness, the initial review of performance metrics will be conducted on a blind basis, without athlete names or National Federation identification.
Selection Methodology
70% of Recipients – Merit-Based Selection: Recipients in this category will be evaluated using the following scoring formula:
1. Performance / Merit (40%)
Athlete must have medaled at the most recent Continental Championship.
Medal achievements and competitive results will be considered.
2. Need (40%)
Determined using information provided by the National Federation.
May include factors such as National Federation resources, equipment access, and budget considerations.
3. Activity (20%)
Based on the number of international competitions in which the athlete has participated during the previous eighteen (18) months.
30% of Recipients – Random Lottery: A separate portion of recipients (i.e., completed applications NOT selected according to the formula above) will be selected through a random lottery among eligible applicants who meet the program requirements.
Gender Equity Principle: Final selections will be made in accordance with a 50/50 gender equality principle, with the objective of ensuring equal distribution of support opportunities between male and female athletes.
4. Submission Instructions
Application form must be submitted no later than October 1, 2026
Late or incomplete applications may not be considered.
Successful applicants will be notified by October 30, 2026.
