Following an intense day of "Confederation Clashes" and elite international matchups, the PBC delegation has solidified its status as a dominant force heading into the quarterfinals.

Day 3 Highlights: Key Results

The Americas celebrated several standout performances today, including hard-fought tactical wins and dominant clean sweeps:

  • Technical Masterclass for the USA: Yoseline Perez (USA) (W-54kg) remained perfect in the tournament, advancing to the quarterfinals with a dominant unanimous decision over Australia. In the M-60kg division, Salim Ellis Bey (USA) advanced to the next round via Walkover (WO) against Ireland. Isabella Winkler (USA) (W-70kg) secured her places in the next round with an authoritative unanimous decision over New Zealand

  • Statement Wins for Mexico: Citlalli Vanessa Ortiz (MEX) (W-70kg) delivered a standout performance, defeating Evelyn Igharo (IRL) via a 4:0 decision to advance in the bracket.

  • Host Nation Triumph: Luiz Gabriel (BRA) energized the home crowd in the M-60kg division, advancing to the next round with a 5:0 unanimous decision victory over Lucas Fernandez (URU). In the M-70kg class, Kaian Reis (BRA) swept the cards against Venezuela’s Lisandro Tejada. Rebeca Santos (BRA) edged out Turkey’s Gizem Ozer in the W-60kg division by 3:2 split decision, and Thauan Silva bested Morocco’s Akram El Massmoudi in the M-75kg class. Finally, Wanderley Pereira (BRA) controlled the action in a 3:0 victory against Venezuela’s Diego Andres Pereyra Mejia in a M-80kg contest.

  • Dominican Dominance: Ricardo Cuello (DOM) continues to shine in this tournament as he pulled off an impressive 3:2 decision victory over Armenia’s Ararat Harutyunyan in the M-70kg class. Dani Caceras edged Bulgaria’s Ergyunal Sabri Sebahtin by 3:2 split decision in the M-50kg division. Noel Pacheco downed Pylyp Akilov (HUN) by yet another 3:2 split decision and advanced in the M-80kg field.

  • Canada Crushes Competition: Scarlett Delgado (W-54kg), Keoma Al Ahmadieh (M-60kg), and Marie Al Ahmadieh (W-60kg) put on technical masterclasses by beating their opponents from Mexico, Italy, and USA. Josh Ofori overwhelmed his Bulgarian opponent, forcing a stoppage in the third round of his M-80kg bout.

  • Argentina Advances: Nahuel Roldan (ARG) controlled the bout from start to finish against Ramoil Kurbonov from Tajikistan in a M-80kg competition, sweeping all rounds on the scorecards.
